Scary Dengue go AWAY!

The news of Dengue outbreaks has scared the hell out of me!! Since I heard about the dengue outbreaks and children dying out of it on the news, the thought of my own little one possibly being infected has not left my mind. I know! The news would alarm you, but the though of your own little one or any member of your family being infected would panic you.

The rainy days partnered with that mutation of those dengue-carrying mosquitoes caused the number to rise to epidemic level on some places, i believe. Cebu may not be (Thank God!) an epidemic place but lets not be complacent. I, personally, cannot afford to be complacent.

here are some personal practices that I can recommend :
  • General Cleaning – Tour your house surroundings and be on look out (read as: Clean) for those stagnant waters and places where water and rainwater may possibly stack.

  • Citronella Bug Spray – found one that I want think as effective and as well as easy on the budget. Citronella Bug Spray DEET free! – from Human ♥ Nature
Shoo off mosquitoes and other pesky bugs with an effective, organic antidote. With natural skin moisturizers your skin will thank you for it!
My 2 cents: This is a product I would recommend. Aside from the repellent effect of the Citronella, I personally believe on the organic and all-natural claim of this product. it is safe to use for sensitive skin. Plus it smells good!! *wink *wink

  • Light-colored clothes – Choosing light colored clothing shoo away the mosquitoes too while dark shades attracts them. Whites and Yellows are best clothing when your child is outside and playing.

  • PJs - Protect the skin as much as possible too thru the use of PJs. If your kids are schooling already, knee-high socks is a good alternative.

  • Prevention is the best cure –ika nga… So mudhers and everyone, lets not stop to look for ways that we can secure our loved ones from that deadly Dengue.

    Green Bean

    What is Green Bean?
Selected and organically grown coffee beans from different estate farms around the world, brewed using all natural ways and roasted to perfection in a 19th century house that has been converted into a modern roasting facility.

Oh well, that's what they say they are in their Facebook Page.

Kahit ang packaging, my "organic" touch pa rin.

But what is it to me? -A whole new coffee experience!!! Their catch phrase "Organic Coffee Co" caught my attention. Good thing, I yielded into my curiosity and got myself and hubby a cup.

What is Green Bean Coffee to me? -Its fresh and clean taste would really tell that it is organic. No hesitation with every "gulf" since it does taste light, clean and coffee-ing-coffee-ing taste pa rin.

    Notice the Mascovado Sugar ha..
I found Green Bean in NAIA3 (Cebu Pacific and Airphil Terminal, across Jollibee). Unfortunately, they dont have a branch in Cebu yet. According to their page, they have another branch in St. Luke's Med Center and in  Davao. Sana, they would open one in Cebu soon.

So as of now, I would recommend this as a worthy experience for all those who would be passing thru Terminal 3.. lalo na if your waiting for a delayed flight =)

For those who are interested to try, consider their blends below:

ECO blend - ExotiC Organic blend : Rich, Intense but
Smooth & Healthy - This coffee is a USDA certified
organic coffee, grown without use of
chemicals, pesticides, just all natural fertilizers

OD blend – Organic Decaff blend: Nutty, smooth and
balanced w/o the caffeine– This coffee is a
    Swiss-Water Process product, taste driven,100%
    chemical free coffee decaffeination

OS blend – Organic Soy blend: Sweet, earthy with a soy
    aroma & taste
This coffee is a mix of the exotic organic blend and
the sweet flavor of organic soy milk, making its
flavor more complex,& delicate. “ A must try blend “

    * Our Sweetener
We use only naturally healthy Muskovado sugar, an unrefined brown sugar from sugarcane juice. It is best for our organic brewed coffee which enhances its flavor and aroma.

    Enjoy your cup and xoxo!

    Montego Bay Club

WARNING: This is a Shoe-lust post.

Montego Bay Club shoes is a discovery. I love the comfort fit, love their chic designs, love that they are affordable. Montego Bay Club is a new love.

I tried to do a little research about the brand but unfortunately, there was so little that Mr. Google can say. I am not even sure if the brand is related to the Montego Bay, Jamaica (just like the Havaianas to Brazil). One thing I noticed though, Montego Bay Club has its association with the Payless store.

And now, I would let the pictures do more of the talking.

    Sandals.
This time I appreciate the fact that there are a lot of colors available. Usually I am more of "uniqueness".
Love their choices of colors too.
    Wedges.
I am not into wedges but I am loving these..specially the pink one. I don't know if I pull through  this bold of a design.
    Flipflops
    My next project!
    Bronze and Silver
Ooommmgeeee, I love the bronze slipper!! Can this be a next project too?

Montego Bay Club is available in the new Payless store in Ayala. But if you want to save time, you may do online shopping first at Payless Online Store. Most of the designs they sell on the site are also available in the store.

    Kyooti-Kyoot: Bag IDs

As mentioned from a previous blog we are to travel in a few days.. and as they say "The key to a successful trip is preparation.". One of the items on my preparation list is to get a "catchy" Bag ID.

So here is my fave finds..from National Bookstore.

RED for Migz and GREEN for us.
I found other designs (both kewl and kikay) from that store for Moms, Preggers and Babies across National Bookstore (bugger, I can't remember the name of the store now) but I bought these already from National Bookstore before I saw the other designs. If you have a Baby Girl, I suggest get the one from that "mom store". =)

I am not sure if National Bookstore carry other designs but when Migz and I went there, the Bus design is the only selection.

Also, make sure you open the packaging and check if the item is still good. Be a sigurista! I made a mistake of not double-checking my purchases (which is unusual since I open packaging almost always) and brought home a defective one. Defective but can be mended.

so there, i have shared my finds..and crashed out one item on my travel-prep-checklist. onto the next then..

    D R E A M

Question: When you were a kid, what do you want to be when you grew up?
    Answer: A Lawyer!

Question: Now that your grown up, what do you want to be?
    Answer: A BARRISTA!!!

I believe its just normal that I am a coffee addict and I want to master the craft of making hand-crafted coffee. Other than that, the job is simply KEWL! not to mention the free coffee you get. =)

This has been with me for months already..

The form remained blank..all these months.
    * Hopefully I would accomplish this dream in this lifetime.

    Packing Dilemma

Team Abritz is having its first major out of town trip. We are going to Manila!!! It’s my Bro-in-law’s grad from Army so we are attending his graduation in Tarlac. We took that opportunity too to have a major out-of-town. The husband is assigned with the IT and I am with the preparation.

One of my dilemmas -packing! We would be away for 5 days… would be moving from one hotel to another… not the mention would be packing for my baby boy. So I am in constant consultation with Mr. Google now to make my packing hassle-free and effective (and it has to be within 15 kilos limit that we declared with Cebu-Pacific).

I found tips, which I think, would be effective for me (reads: us –me, husband and my baby boy):

Create a Universal Packing List and Travellerspoint List (must-haves and possibly needed stuffs). This is number 1 step for me I guess, since I have the tendency to forget a lot. =)

Rolling clothes for lesser wrinkles. This is pertinent since we would be bringing clothes that would be good for 4 days + extra for possible “costume changes”.  I’ve used this method several times before but most of the time, I pack the conventional way (stacking clothes atop one another). Just now I learned that the old way of is the worst packing method –it creates creases and wrinkles.

Bag IDs – this is a tip I got from a friend. It helps you locate your conventional black luggage bag easier when they are stacked with other bags in the airport. It is a fallback in case your luggage gets lost (God forbid). It’s a must!

Zip-lock-it - And since I have special needs for this travel, like ensuring that we would have adequate milk and milk-water for my baby, transparent containers and zip-locks are necessary. This transparent zip-lock is not only suitable for milk but any liquid/gel toiletries where bringing their containers would be impractical.

I’ll start packing this weekend. I think I’m set… until I will encounter another packing dilemma again.

    Offroads' Caramel Macchiato

    I was soooo surprised!!!

One work night, I desperately need coffee... Normally, for office nights I am just “availing” of my office’s dispenser coffee but that night, I wanted a fresh taste. Good thing!!! I discovered Offroads has actually their version of Caramel Macchiato.

For all those Caramel Macchiato lovers, check out and try Offroads version. I could say there an almost unnoticeable difference from Starbucks'.

    Nom nom..
